Our Dogs

Gus
Meet Gus, a 3 year old 60 lb Lab mix who was rescued with his brother from a barn in Barstow on Christmas Eve '22. They were found along with several other dogs who had been abused and neglected. Gus particularly had deep cuts and scars all over his sweet face. And yet, these boys wanted so badly to trust those rescuing them. We originally wanted to keep the brothers together, but it was proving to be more detrimental than helpful for them. Gus' brother was quickly adopted, and when they separated that was tough on Gus. His foster didn't have the time and patience to help him through it with at home training. So he went to board and train to work on his fears and separation anxiety. Gus has come such a long way in his journey. He's been working very hard with his trainer and has overcome his fear of the crate. He loves walks and hikes and is very food motivated. Peanut butter is this guys favorite treat. He now warms up to people in under 5 minutes and is asking for belly rubs. Gus needs a patient adopter or foster who's willing to continue helping him gain his confidence, and continue his training. He would does well with other calm dogs. No huskys or large energetic dogs, and while he has worked hard on his impulse control on chasing small animals, no cats. Please help Gus get out of boarding and apply to adopt him today!

Cade
Heddo! My name is Cade, and I’m an American Bulldog. I am three years old. I was rescued by Samson's Sanctuary after I was dumped out of a car in Azusa, CA. I may be a big guy, but I have a big heart full of love to give. I love nothing more than to sprawl out on the couch, flip over and let my belly be exposed to the world. It's my favorite position to sleep in, and it shows how comfortable and relaxed I am in my home. Because of my past, I’m a bit cautious around men. I'm more comfortable at first if a female is around too. It's not that I don't like men, I just need time to warm up to them. Once I trust you, though, I will love you fiercely and never forget you. Oh boy, do I love adventures! I'm always up for a good hike in the great outdoors. I love to be in water! There's so much to explore and so many new smells to sniff. I love getting my nose into everything and finding out what's around the next corner. When I'm out hiking, I like to take my time and really soak it all in. I’m independent but I do love spending time together, I prefer my people to be home with me but I don’t need to be in the same room with you always. I will rest my big head on your lap occasionally and I will sit in your lap for butt scratches. I prefer to be pet on my back until I trust you and then you can touch my head. I get along great with other dogs my size and smaller as long as they are friendly, but I do like to chase cats, so we probably wouldn’t be the best roommates. I’d be great in a home with older kids due to my size. One thing you should know about me is that I'm food motivated. If you've got a tasty treat for me, I'll do just about anything you ask and I will drool to prove it. And if someone comes to the door, I'll be sure to let you know. I'm a great guard dog and always on alert. I LOVE squeaky toys and tug of war. I’m also very fond of BONES and frozen tasty treats. I’ve been in foster care for almost a year! But, my foster mom and trainer work hard on teaching me new skills and giving me structure and boundaries. I walk with a loose leash, I am muzzle trained, I know multiple commands and will work for food. I don’t mean to brag but I am extremely smart and learn very quickly! I need mental stimulation and a good amount of space for my zoomies. I even have my own social media @CadeTheBulldog ! Check out all my awesome adventures! All I really want is a caring and patient family who will love me for who I am and take me on all sorts of adventures, even better if you have previous American Bulldog experience.

Murphy
Meet Murphy the Meatball! He is a senior Pittie who is approximately 8 years old, 85 lbs, and has been waiting to be adopted for a year! His story is a sad one, but we are turning that around now! This poor guy was abandoned multiple times and left outside to fend for himself. First abandoned at a car wash and then taken in by someone else just to be chained up outside 24/7 in all kinds of weather. His new "owner" decided he wanted nothing to do with him and considered euthanasia, but instead decided to put him to the streets. He was out in the pouring rain, and being harassed and beaten by homeless people on the street. Thankfully a good samaritan neighbor came to his aid, bringing him out of the rain and keeping him away from other outside dangers in her bathroom, the only available space she had away from her own animals. She reached out to get him help and that's where Samsons squad came in. Less than 24 hours later, he was safe with us. Even though he arrived covered in tar, cigarette burns, and scars he met us with a smile, a wiggle, and so many thank you kisses. Since he went home with his foster mom, he just loves to lounge around on his comfy couch and gaze out the window at the birds. He is a very polite and even a house trained boy who would love to spend the rest of his days napping and going for walks, where he will undoubtedly make friends on any path he chooses. Despite his size he is even gentle with all people, even little kids! Murphy would do best in a home as an only pet. A home where he can just be loved on and lounge around with his human. Like to snuggle and sleep in? Murphy is your guy! This boy loves to eat and sleep, with an occasional romp around the house or game of tug on his favorite kong wubby toy before resuming his nap time. Apply to take this wonderful meatball home today!

Mojito
Mojito needs a minty fresh new start; could that be with you? Part Jindo, part Border Collie, Mojito needs a refreshing new change of scenery to go with her new name. She was rescued along with her sisters and one brother from a terrible hoarding situation in Korea and was going to be sent to a meat farm. They are now waiting to board their freedom flight to the US. Mojito is a sweet salt and pepper spotted baby who currently weighs 4kg and is about 4 months old. She will probably remain small as her mom was only about 25 lbs. She is up to date on shots and will be fixed before flying out to the states. She is warming up to our team in Korea, and with more human interactions, her personality is sure to blossom. Can you give this sweet girl a soft spot to land? Apply to foster or adopt today!

Jade
Hey, my name is Jade! I was used as an outdoor guard dog for the first few years of my life until being dumped at a shelter by the only family I’ve ever known. I languished away at that shelter for a year before Rebirth Rescue was notified about me. They quickly came to my rescue and have been giving me the best care and training. I waited until the year after that for someone to notice me while I bounced around temporary fosters and training programs. Then, Rebirth Rescue had to close their doors due to financial hardship and now I’ve been welcomed into Samson’s Squad! I am about 4 years old, spayed, and up to date on all my shots. I am even kennel trained and house broken! I love wearing my sweaters and jammies, and I sleep about 90% of the day! My favorite thing is to do is splat out on the floor and snooze on all the comfy things! For fun I enjoy the playing with the water hose or taking a dip in the pool. I am obsessed with peanut butter treats, but please due to my allergies I'm a pescatarian. l love everyone I meet and smother them with kisses, but I do need to be the only animal in the house due to my previous traumatic life. I am looking for a calm, strong leader who will continue my training because I have 6 months under my belt, and I want to continue to grow. I am muzzle trained (and I look so cute!), e-collar conditioned and I loose leash walk like a champ. I know place, stay, wait, leave it and more! I look to my leader for continued instructions. I am the bestest girl, and I am looking for my happy ending. Please say you’ll take me home to be your house hippo.

Bellini
Bellini would be just peachy being your new best friend! Part Jindo, part Border Collie, Bellini was rescued along with her sisters and one brother from a terrible hoarding situation in Korea and was going to be sent to an illegal meat farm. They are now waiting to board their freedom flight to the US. Bellini is a gorgeous white and blonde baby currently weighing 4kg and about 4 months old. She will probably remain small as her mom was only about 25 lbs. She is warming up to our team in Korea, and with more human interactions, her personality is sure to blossom. Can you give this sweet girl a soft spot to land? Apply to foster or adopt today!

Bear
Formerly known as Barton, Bear was a stray. After fending for himself and trying his best to survive, the worst happened. He was hit by a car and then dragged by it. Road rash immediately covered his body as the agonizing pain from his broken leg began to set in. He was brought into a shelter by a Good Samaritan after the driver of the car left him to die. At the shelter, Bear would not eat or accept any treats or love. Declining from the stressful shelter environment and in worse physical shape than they could handle, Bear was put at the top of the Red List. We knew he deserved a chance to live, so we tagged him and rushed right to his aid. Since being rescued, Bear has had and recovered from major surgery to repair his broken leg and has settled into his foster home! He is the snuggliest, sweetest boy, always wanting to be touching someone or holding his favorite orange ball. He is equal parts silly and sweet! Bear is a 55 lb 2 ish year old pit mix, who would love to snuggle you furever! Apply to adopt him today!

Shorty
Last summer the shelter we work with in South Korea saved 80 dogs from the meat market! Shorty was one of the babies born from a rescued pregnant mama! Unfortunately 2 of his siblings died of parvo, but this little legged boy is going strong! He is about 10 months old, vaccinated and neutered and ready to board his freedom flight!! He plays well with other dogs and he doesn't let his short little legs slow him down. We have so many tickets in Jan and Feb, but Shorty needs a committed foster or adopter to board! Apply to bring Shorty home today!

Martini
Martini is a lovable white and blonde baby with the cutest freckles on her nose, currently about 6 months old and 15 lbs. Part Jindo, part Border Collie, Martini was rescued along with her sisters and one brother from a terrible hoarding situation in Korea and was going to be sent to a meat farm. . Martini will probably remain small/medium as her mom was only about 25 lbs. We do not know who her dad is. She was lucky enough to take a freedom flight to a loving foster home and is loving life with her foster sisters! Could Martini be your forever friend? She thinks so! Apply to adopt Martini today!

Lala
Officially introducing and welcoming Lala to the Samsons Squad! Lala is a petite 11 year young lab who was brought into Coachella Valley Animal shelter as a stray. This sweet senior girl was past her deadline and at risk for euthanasia! We are so thankful for the networkers and fosters who stepped up and drove hours to get her where she needed to be! So far we know Lala loves to be pet, eat treats, and take long walks full of lots of sniffs. She is a bit hard of hearing and nearsighted. Lala has several benign masses that were checked and tested by a vet shortly after we rescued her. She is currently with a very loving foster who was able to give Lala the second chance at life she so deserves! She even dressed up as a bat for Howloween! Apply to adopt this frosted face beauty today!

Moo
Meet Moo! He is a 2 year old, terrier mix cuddle bug looking for his furever home! This cutie was brought into Moreno Valley Shelter as a stray and was approaching his 30 day mark. Thanks to our amazing networkers, transporters, and foster parents who stepped up for him, we were able to pull him before he was at risk for euthanasia! He even had his first pup cup on his way to his foster mom. Little Moo is settling into his foster home quite nicely. While it's clear he's never lived in a home before, he's already decided he likes it! All the toys, treats, and snuggles leaves him with no room for complaints. Apply to adopt Moo!

Mocha
Hi! I'm Mocha, a 50 lb male who was recently rescued from living in a dirty alleyway. I am thriving now that I'm in a loving foster home with my new favorite humans and my doggy bff, Latte, who was rescued with me. I am an adorable and adventurous goofball. I love bounding after my squeaky toy, flopping onto my back for tummy rubs, and cuddling Latte. Not to brag, but I'm VERY SMART. I've already learned some basic commands, am potty trained, and am getting the hang of crate training. I can be adopted together or separate from my bff, Latte!
