Ophelia the OfferUp Kitty
Last month, our founder was on OfferUp and saw what no rescuer ever wants to see. A sick kitten posted for free to whoever wants her. It was clear from the picture there was something wrong with her eye, but we couldn’t tell exactly what it was but we knew we had to save her. Within the hour, our foster coordinator/cat expert rushed to her aid. Her poor eye was crusted shut, not to mention the fleas crawling all over her, so we immediately brought her to the ER. Ophelia was born in an accidental litter (we were informed that the mama has allegedly since been spayed, as that was our next mission) and the family said last week one of the other cats in the house scratched her eye. Although our vet wasn't sure how true that is, there was definitely trauma to the eye. They said no shelters would take her in and they couldn’t afford a vet, so they let her suffer for a week (if not more). She was less than 2lbs when we got her! Since her eye was in such bad shape, we were worried she would need surgery right away but the vet couldn’t even see through the inflamed tissue to determine how bad the trauma is. After two weeks Ophelia's eye made a FULL RECOVERY! She is putting on weight daily and is a ball of love. She loves to make biscuits on you, she purrs so loud you would think she weighed 20lbs! She loves to play with all of her siblings and really wants to share all your meals with you. It's hard to say no because she is SO CUTE! Because she is so young, she is not ready to be officially adopted but she can go to a FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME! Because of her young age she will need a playmate at her new home - it is a requirement to ensure healthy social skills and behavior development. Nibz
Hi! My name is Nibz. I was abandoned in a box in front of a vet’s office at just 7 days old! (Now I'm 7 months!) They called my foster mama and she rushed right over. She always tells me I was the easiest bottle baby! I slept through the night, loved my bottle and really didn’t make a peep! I have grown up around all my other foster brothers and sisters, including doggos! I love them all. I love to sleep right next you when it’s time for bed. I am quite bossy when it’s breakfast or dinner time, I will let you know that I am hungry! I am quite athletic and run and jump on everything. My foster mom called me Nibz because I give little love bites on her nose, she says it’s one of her favorite things about me. Oh and be careful when you're eating toast, I will steal it as it's my FAVORITE THING! She says its time for me to find my forever home and I am just so excited to meet you! Wally
My name is Wally! I’m the cutest little guy you’ve ever seen. I am about 4 months old now. I will still need to be neutered by my adopter when it’s time, but this will be covered by Samson’s Sanctuary! Here is my story! My foster mom got a call that a tiny kitten scurried out from under a car on Hollywood Blvd and into someone’s yard during LA’s torrential rains recently. She immediately left work to come pick me up! I was really scared and soaking wet. My foster mom wrapped me in a onesie and gave me some time to decompress after a bath. I was very cautious and nervous at first (wouldn’t you be?!), but I opened up after only a few days. My foster mom says I’m cuddly, really funny, and very independent. I love playing with my foster siblings and must go to a home with other kitten/cat siblings to play with. I love my cat tree and also curling up with you to sleep at night. Oh, and when it’s time to eat, I will let you know how hungry I am by meowing you a song! Have you ever heard a kitten sing? I’m such an adorable, quirky, and sweet little guy. I can’t wait to meet my forever fam!
Panic
Hi! My name is Panic. Funny story about my name, when the foster coordinator heard about my story (I also have a brother named Attack) she had a literal panic attack! She had two days to find placement for me or we were going to be thrown on the street to fend for ourselves! I am about 10 weeks old, I am very sweet but I am a shy boy. I'm very gentle but I need time to warm up as this world hasn't been very nice to me. I really like my foster mom, she's gentle with me and allows me to move at my own pace. Now, I am only 10 weeks old which means I can't officially be adopted BUT you can foster to adopt me! I would really love to get adopted with my brother Attack, but I would also be okay as long as you have another cat at home I could curl up with. I can't wait to meet my forever family. Attack
Hi! My name is Attack. Funny story about my name, when the foster coordinator heard about my story (I also have a brother named Panic) she had a literal panic attack! She had two days to find placement for me or we were going to be thrown on the street to fend for ourselves! I am about 10 weeks old, I'm pretty silly, I love cardboard boxes and scratches. I love to meow to get your attention and I really love my brother! I'm kind of like his protector, it would be really great if we could be adopted together! Now, I am only 10 weeks old which means I can't officially be adopted BUT you can foster to adopt me! I would really love to get adopted with my brother Attack, but I would also be okay as long as you have another cat at home I could curl up with. I can't wait to meet my forever family.
